Update from Brooke Navarre, Executive Director

The Amsterdam at Harborside is currently and will continue to be “On Pause” until at least June 6th. All of our strict protocols throughout all levels of care are still in place.

Residents and staff have been vigilant in following all procedures and protocols to contain the coronavirus. When the time comes, we will start working towards our “new normal.” At this time, we are unsure what that looks like but we intend to be cautious in our approach as your health and safety is our number one priority.

We do not have any current COVID-19 cases in Independent Living, Enriched Housing or Memory Support.

Currently eight COVID-19 affected residents are recovering in the Tuttle Center. This number includes all levels of care and two outside admissions. One other Amsterdam resident is currently in the hospital at the direction of their physician for the most appropriate medical care.

Five of six staff members who tested positive for the virus are cleared and have returned to work.  We are sufficiently staffed and have the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) to safely service our residents.

In order to prevent social isolation and meet social distancing requirements in the coming months, we have a number of additional programs to assist you in staying connected. Don’t forget that your Resident Ambassadors are available if you need them.

Once again, we are very appreciative and thank you for all your kind words, it means a lot to me and to our amazing staff.
